Overview for BD Vacutainer Plus Plastic Citrate Tubes
The Vacutainer® Plus Plastic Citrate Tubes are used for routine coagulation studies. They have 3.2% buffered sodium citrate solution added to them.
Excellent Features
Vacutainer® Plus features a plastic outer tube made of PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) an unbreakable material. The tube retains vacuum so that a proper blood to additive ratio is kept. The inner tube is made from polypropylene, a specialized non-activating surface. It retains liquid additives, maintaining the proper blood to additive ratio and citrate concentration. The original tube design minimizes tube headspace across all draw volumes.
Hemogard™ Closure
A unique Hemogard™ closure features a recessed inner design and a shield covered with plastic, allowing to avoid contact with blood that gets on the stopper or outer rim of the tube. For even greater use convenience, the Hemogard™ closure ensures smooth operation that eliminates blood splattering while opening the tube.
